TomanCalc

About this site

Why TomanCalc exists

There are already good Iranian rate tables — bonbast, tgju, navasan. This site does not try to replace them. It answers a narrower question those tables do not: if you are outside Iran and want to work out roughly what your family receives in Toman, what does the arithmetic actually look like?

That is the whole site: a reference calculator, plus explainers on why the ordinary transfer services do not serve Iran.

Everything here is educational. We describe how systems work; we do not facilitate transactions, and we do not tell anyone how to move money in a way that would breach sanctions law.

How the data is kept current

The crypto leg is pulled from a public market API. The informal Toman rate is updated manually and always carries the date it was checked; it is a reference estimate cross-checked against independent public trackers, never a live trading quote and never scraped from another site.

If you spot a figure that is out of date or wrong, that is genuinely useful — it is the fastest way this gets corrected. You can reach us through the contact details on this page while a dedicated channel is being set up.

Important: Iran is subject to extensive international sanctions that change over time. Nothing on this site is legal advice. Before acting on anything you read here, check the current published guidance from the relevant authority in your country — for US persons that is OFAC's Iran sanctions programme.
